Abstract

In a network with establishment of a LAN (Local Area Network) or a peer to peer network in need of UTP cable types of crossover and straight. Cable types of crossover and straight have the function and arrangement of cables different sequences at the ends A and B. tip if you want to create a LAN network or peer to peer as the data transmission media should create both types of cables. Kaera each type of cable has a different function, it cannot be used if one type of crossover or straight cable has the same function. In the preparation of crossover and straight cable types, errors often occur in the order of the sequence, so that if the rearrangement is made, the UTP cable must be cut and the RJ45 connection must be replaced, and so on if there is an error in repetitive preparation. Based on existing problems, it can be built a UTP (Unshielded Twisted Pair) cable converter tool. The tool built is a prototype cable cable using a microcontroller and relay, to be able to arrange the crossover type UTP cable into straight and vice versa. From the research that has been done, it is found that UTP (Unshielded Twisted Pair) cable converter prototype uses a microcontroller and the relay has been successfully built and functions to convert / convert crossover type UTP cable into straight and straight into a crossover.
