Abstract

This study aims to determine the leadership style of the library chief of Sunan Kalijaga UIN Yogyakarta, the performance of librarians at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta and the influence of leadership style on librarian performance at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. This study uses quantitative research methods. Data collection techniques were carried out by distributing questionnaires to all Library librarians of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, amounting to 19 respondents. Data analysis used mean and grand mean, while to see the influence between the two testing variables using product moment correlation with the help of SPSS version 23. The results showed that the leadership style of the library head in Sunan Kalijaga UIN Yogyakarta obtained an average value of 2.74 where the value is in the "good" category. While the performance of librarians at Sunan Kalijaga State Islamic University in Yogyakarta obtained an average score of 2.80 which was included in the "good" category. In testing the correlation of product moment correlation formula with r table of 0.456 with a level of error of 5%, the highest correlation test results were obtained at 0.691 on achievement- oriented leadership style. Where the value is included in the "strong" category. The correlation level is said to be significant with a value of 0.002. There is a significant effect and a probability level of 0.002 5 0.05. The results of the t test are obtained t count (3.757) ≥ t table (2,110). So that it can be concluded that there is a positive and significant influence between the leadership style of the library head towards the performance of the librarians of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. The results of this study recommend that improvements be made to aspects of library management and service performance that have low value.
