Abstract

This study aims to determine the user's perception of the utilization of the grey literature collection in the Gadjah Mada University Library (UGM) Yogyakarta. This research uses a quantitative descriptive method, with research subjects Gadjah Mada University Students utilizing the grey literature collection in the Gadjah Mada University Library and the object of grey literature collection research in the Gadjah Mada University Library. The population in this study was 33,859 people. From this population, samples were taken based on the Slovin formula, obtained a sample of 100 people. Data collection techniques using a questionnaire, with a simple random sampling technique. Data measurement using a Likert scale with 5 choices of answers. Data analysis using the mean and Grand Mean, with the results obtained that the perception of visitors to the use of grey literature collection in the Gadjah Mada University Library (UGM) Yogyakarta can be categorized as high at 3.96. In the sub-variable utilization of the collection shows the results that can be categorized high with a grand mean value of 4,00. In the sub variable method of utilizing collections, the results can be categorized high with a grand mean value of 3.92. With this research the library is expected to foster the interest of users towards the use of grey literature collections by coordinating with educators in this case lecturers to utilize grey literature collections as a source of reference in doing assignments, librarians through user education activities can introduce the importance of grey literature collections and how to use it, and the library is expected to add facilities in the form of computers to access the grey literature collection in the library.
