Abstract

Schools have a main focus in educating and shaping students with character through the educational curiculum. But currently, student behavior tends not to reflect the character of manners, especially for teachers in schools. This can occur because of internal factors that influence the character building of these students, one of which is Aqidah. This study aims to determine the relationship between Aqidah and the character of manners. As for the population of the study was conducted in grade XI Students Of Muhammadiyah 3 High School Yogyakarta by involving a sample of 62 students. The sample was taken by using cluster random sampling technique. This study used a Aqidah‟s scale with an alpha coeffiecient = 0,944 and a charter of manner‟s scale with an alpha coefficient = 0,931. Correlation test was performed using the nonparametric Spearman Rho technique. The result of the study showed that there was a significant positive relationship between Aqidah and the character of manners. It can be seen from the correlation coefficient value = 0,650 and the significance value (p) = 0,000 (p < 0,05).
