Abstract

This study aims at the skills of students using Google: Case study of Students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Teacher Education Program of Ngawi Islamic Institute class of 2019. This study of research is descriptive quantitative method which the research subject of students of Madrasah Ibtidayah Teacher education (PGMI), in islamic religion institute Ngawi and the object research skills students use Google by students by students of Teacher Education Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Agama Institut Agama Islam generation of 2019. This research data collection technique is questionnaire, observation, and documentation, interview. The population in this study is students of Madrasah Ibtidayah Teacher education class of 2019 which amounted to 30 students. Sampling techniques that are used are saturated sampling techniques. The variables in this study are singular: students' skills to use Google to search for information of students in searching for information using Google by students of Madrasah Ibtidayah Teacher education (PGMI), in islamic religion institute Ngawi class of 2019. The results showed that students' skills to use Google to search for information are relatively low, with a percentage score of 32%. The criteria of skills using basic search strategies have a percentage value of 25% and skills using Google advanced search have a percentage value of 38%. For the aspect of skills that are classified as high is the skill of processing information with a percentage value of 67% and for the lowest aspect is the skill of students in evaluating the results of information with a percentage value of 50%. The results of the study authors provide suggestions that for students are expected to understand and improve the knowledge of searches on Google. The study program needs to improve the education of information literacy users by providing learning about information search strategies on Google.
