Abstract
Movie is a part of literary works that has the element of audio visual in which it becomes more complex and complete so that it is worth to be analyzed. Mad Max: Fury Road is a movie by George Miller and it is the object of this graduating paper. The movie shows the struggle of Furiosa, The Five Wives, and The Vulvalini, as woman, in determining their life. Furthermore, it also shows the struggle of woman who wants to be free from the man’s control. This graduating paper is a descriptive qualitative research. This research uses Marxist Feminist theory that focuses on how the man characters threat the woman character and the struggle of the women character. This research aims to describe oppression over women characters through capitalist system; the way the women character respond the oppression; and the effect of the oppression in women character through Mad Max: Fury Road movie. The result of this research is the oppression experienced by Furiosa as a slave and product, The Five Wives as the assets, and The Vulvalini as a dirt poor. They responds to the oppression by fighting against the capitalist Immortan Joe for tearing up the women’s oppression. The effect from the oppression experienced by them is that they cannot live as they want because of the oppression. Thus, they want to break free from the oppression of capitalist system.
