Abstract

This research was conducted at SDN Wirosaban Yogyakarta on students with special needs with the aim of knowing 1) the implementation of distance learning for students with special needs. 2) implementation of 5M distance learning strategies for students with special needs; 3) barriers and solutions to 5M distance learning for students with special needs in the era of the Covid-19 pandemic at SDN Wirosaban Yogyakarta; This research uses descriptive qualitative methods, with case studies, data collection techniques using observation, interviews and documentation. Then the data is analyzed by describing it. In this study, the main sources were teachers, GPK, parents, and school principals as supporting data. The data is verified by using the validity of the data in the form of triangulation, then the data is analyzed by reducing the data, presenting the data and the final stage of drawing conclusions. The results of the research related to the distance learning strategies implemented at SD Wirosaban Inclusion are 1) The implementation of distance learning with 5M consists of a. Humanizing relationships by building positive relationships between teachers, students and parents. b. Understanding Concepts with the teacher guides learning through explaining the goals and learning process to parents. c. Build sustainability by reflecting with parents. d. Choose a challenge by providing a variety of learning activities according to student conditions and flexible study hours. e. Empower context by involving resources at home as learning resources. Based on the results of this study, the use of the 5M distance learning strategy contributes to teachers and parents in collaborating in educating students with special needs to be empowered to learn and remain productive during the Covid-19 pandemic. 2) the obstacles faced by teachers, parents, including teachers cannot monitor all student learning activities as well as parents cannot report children's learning activities every day because they do not have cellphones, teachers and parents are also hampered by time. And also have difficulty dealing with children whose mood changes. The solution is to do a home visit, provide flexible and flexible time for students and reflection.
