Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between conformity and body image in students using skincare in Yogyakarta. The subjects in this study were active students who were studying at universities in Yogyakarta, aged 18-22 years. The samples in this study were 114 subjects, taken using a nonprobability quota sampling technique. Data were collected using a body image scale which has an alpha coefficient of 0.899, a conformity scale with an alpha of 0.955. The analysis technique used is Pearson's prodact moment correlation technique. The results of the analysis showed that there was a significant positive relationship between conformity and body image in students using skincare. Conformity gives an effective contribution of 3.5% to body image and the rest is influenced by other factors.
