Abstract
This study aims to determine whether there is a correlation between parental involvement and student motivation of SMP X during the Covid-19 pandemic. The approach to this research is carried out quantitatively with data collection methods in the form of a questionnaire. The measuring instrument used is a psychological scale in the form of a questionnaire as a way of filtering data about learning motivation and parental involvement. The population in this study was class VIII SMP X in Bantul with a total sample of 151 students. The sampling technique in this study was cluster random sampling.Based on the data analysis, the results show that there is a relationship between parental involvement and learning motivation during the Covid-19 pandemic. This can be seen from the results of the correlation coefficient test which is formed of 0.569 with sig. <0.05, which means that the involvement of parents and students’ learning motivation has a significant relationship. The conclusion of this study is that there is a positive relationship between students’ learning motivation and parental involvement during the Covid-19 pandemic. The higher involvement of parents will result in higher students’ motivation to learn.
