Abstract

This research aims to determine and analyze the effect of online learning on learning independence and student motivation. Online learning is basically included in the e-learning category which is commonly known as Fully Online. Online learning that is currently taking place may have the potential to influence the psychological development of students, including the development of independent learning and the development of student learning motivation. Independent learning is an attitude that an individual has to learn individually or independently which is driven by his desire to be able to master a competency that he wants to achieve. Meanwhile, the learning motivation referred to in this study is an internal process that activates, guides, and maintains behavior from time to time as well as learning activities that arise from within students which can be influenced by internal and external factors. This study uses a quantitative approach. The research method used a questionnaire, interview and documentation. Sampling using random sampling technique with a sample size of 110 students. The data analysis technique used regression analysis with the help of SPSS 23 for windows. The research instrument used an online learning questionnaire, independent learning and student motivation. The results showed: 1) There is a positive influence between online learning on the independent learning of students in class VIII Islamic Education subjects at SMP Negeri 3 Salam. This is indicated by the results of the p value (0.000) and the value of t = 12.985 is greater than the value of t table 1.658. 2) There is a positive influence between online learning on student motivation in class VIII Islamic Education at SMP Negeri 3 Salam. This is indicated by the value of p (0.000) and the value of t = 17.157 is greater than the value of t table 1.658. 3) The contribution of the influence of online learning to the learning independence of students in the PAI class VIII at SMP Negeri 3 Salam is (r2) of 0.610 or 61.0%, while the remaining 39.0% is influenced by other factors. Meanwhile, the contribution of the influence of online learning to student learning motivation in the VIII grade Islamic Education subject at SMP Negeri 3 Salam was (r2) 0.732 of 73.2%, while 26.8% was influenced by other factors.
