Abstract

This research was conducted at MI Ar-Rahmah, Karawang regency in fifth-grade students to know the implementation of e-learning based on Edmodo with discovery learning models to improve students' critical thinking skills in Indonesian language subjects in class V MI Ar-Rahmah Karawang Regency in the future. pandemic. This type of research is qualitative descriptive. Data collection techniques were used in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation then the data were analyzed using a description. In this study, the speakers are the homeroom teacher and students as the main sources, while the principal and parents are the supporting sources. Data were verified using data validity in the form of extended observations and triangulation of sources and time triangulation. Then the data were analyzed by data reduction, data presentation, and verification. The results of this study indicate that the implementation goes well because Edmodo-based e-learning makes it easier for students to send assignments and do assignments. Edmodo-based e-learning is an alternative that teachers use in the process of online learning activities due to the outbreak of the Covid-19 virus. There is still some application of discovery learning models in learning that are not following the steps in the lesson plan. The development of critical thinking skills is integrated into the lesson plan to support active students to think independently. The teacher makes questions and makes assessments in the form of attitudes and knowledge with a rubric that contains indicators of critical thinking skills so that the teacher can find out the critical thinking skills of each student. The use of discovery learning models to improve students' critical thinking skills has been integrated into the lesson plan but there has not been any improvement. There are obstacles in the implementation process, namely the way the teacher delivers the material, the implementation of the discovery learning model is not good and maximal, the signal strength due to bad weather, the students themselves sometimes have problems due to a feeling of unwillingness to learn and that happens to some students, It is difficult for students to be invited to collaborate in learning due to the boredom that sometimes arises, and the teachers who are still less creative and innovative in creating comfortable and enjoyable learning activities during the pandemic.
