Abstract

The objective of this research was to know the state of the librarian’s performance, the user interests, and the significant influence of the librarian’s performance towards the user interests to visit DPAD DIY Library Service Center Unit Grhatama Pustaka. This research was a quantitative descriptive associative with two variables which are independent variable (librarian’s performance) and dependent variable (the user interests). Some methods used to gather the data were interview, documentation, and questioners with 100 samples of total 13.063 populations. The samples were taken in research used incidental sampling, means the samples were taken randomly. In the research, the data were processed using SPSS version 23. Then, the data were analyzed using formulas of mean, grand mean, product mean correlation, and also simple linear regression in order to collect quantitative result. The result of the analysis showed that the state of librarian’s performance at DPAD DIY library service center unit Grhatama Pustaka was included into the fair category and the user interests were included into the fair category. There was also the significant influence between the X variable which is the independent variable (librarian’s performance) and the Y variable which is the dependent variable (library user interests) that was shown with coefficient values determination (R2) of this research about 0,315 and the probability value or the significance was about 0,000. From those result the researcher expected that in the future the librarians of DPAD DIY library service center unit Grhatama Pustaka will be able to develop their capabilities on performance in order to give the best service to the library users so that the interest of visiting the library will increase as well.
