Abstract

The aims of this study are to examine the effect of profitability (ROA) and company size (Size) on company value (PBV) with capital structure (DER) as an intervening variable with a case study on companies listed on the Jakarta Islamic Index (JII) for the period 2015 to 2019. This study uses quantitative research and use data regression in Eviews-9 to test the hypothesis. This study also used purposive of sampling technique while the sample is taken from 13 companies. Sources of data obtained from secondary data in the form of financial reports that are accessed through the company's personal website and the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). The results of this study indicate that profitability has a negative and significant effect on capital structure, company size has a positive and insignificant effect on capital structure, profitability has a positif and significant effect on company value, company size has a negative and significant effect on company value, capital structure has a positive and insignificant effect on company value, capital structure is not a mediator of the influence of profitability on company value, but capital structure can be used as a mediator of the effect of company size on company value.
