Abstract
Media constructs news according to its ideology as well as those found in two online media, Detik.com (Indonesian online media) and BBC.com (British online media). The two media from the two countries shared news about Reynhard Sinaga, who was an Indonesian citizen accused of a same-sex rape case in Manchester, England. From the background of the case, it would be interesting to conduct a study on the construction of news content in the news coverage of the two media for the period January 4 - April 25, 2020 This research used descriptive qualitative method using Pan and Kosicki model framing analysis. The unit of analysis used is (a) syntactic structure, the way journalists arrange facts. (b) the structure of the script, the way journalists tell the facts. (c) the thematic structure, the way journalists write facts (d) the restorative structure, the way journalists suppress the facts. The results of the research obtained are differences in the construction of news content in Reynhard Sinaga's reporting on BBC.com and Detik.com in the period from January 4 to April 25, 2020. Detik.com constructed news content more broadly and briefly by linking Reynhard Sinaga with various information even though it is not related to the course of the case. Meanwhile, BBC.com constructed news content specifically and in depth and focuses on the course of the case.
