Abstract

The principal's leadership style is very important in mobilizing and harmonizing the educational resources available in schools and using them as needed. The principal's leadership style is one of the factors that can realize the school's vision, mission, goals and objectives through school programs that are carried out in a planned and gradual manner. As a school principal, he must be able to encourage the performance of the work education staff at Raudatul Furqon Kindergarten so that they can work voluntarily and sincerely, displaying high performance to achieve the competency and quality standards expected by parents of students and the surrounding community. The purpose of the study was to determine the implications of the leadership style of the head of Raudhatul Furqon Kindergarten on improving teacher performance during the Covid-19 pandemic, to determine the improvement of teacher performance during the Covid-19 pandemic. This study uses a qualitative descriptive research, which explains the phenomenon in a certain period of time. The selection of research subjects in this study used a purposive sampling technique with data collection techniques using observation, interviews and documentation techniques. Field data analysis techniques in this study used the Miles and Huberman model with the following steps: 1) Data reduction; 2) Data presentation; and 3) Drawing conclusions. Test the validity of the data used in this study is triangulation of sources and techniques. The results of this study indicate that: (1) The principal has a democratic leadership style in leading the educators in the school well and fulfills the achievement of the learning process to students in accordance with the Vision and Mission that has been previously designed and provides satisfaction and service to parents and students. students in facilities and infrastructure and the learning process during the Covid-19 period. (2) The principal's leadership style greatly affects the improvement of teacher performance. The head of the Raudhatul Furqon Kindergarten has carried out his duties and responsibilities as an educator manager and has directed teachers who are creative, confident, optimistic, patient, open, disciplined, democratic and love students. (3) Improving the performance of teachers in Raudhatul Furqon Kindergarten has a very satisfying effect for students. In this case the teacher has three abilities, namely personal ability, social ability, and professional ability.
