Abstract

One aspect of improving the quality of Islamic education for blind students is the availability of quality learning media. Therefore, researchers developed an Islamic Religion Textbook with a Braille Model for Grade VII Students of SLB-A Aisyiyah Ponorogo. The purpose of this study was to produce Islamic textbook products with a Braille model for seventh grade blind students, to determine the feasibility of Islamic religious textbooks using the Braille Model for seventh grade blind students, to determine the effectiveness of Islamic books with a Braille model for participants blind students class VII. The research method used in this research is RND (Research and Development) research with the Borg and Gall development model. The subjects in this study were blind students of class VII SLB-A Aisyiyah Ponorogo, as many as three students. Data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, documentation, questionnaires, and tests. Data analysis used t-test (one–group pretest-posttest) and N Gain. The results showed: (1) Islamic religious textbooks with the Braille model contain material about faith in angels, reflections in daily life, and exercises for students that have been simplified according to the needs of students and then converted into Braille writing. The textbook is used as a handbook for class VII blind students. (2) The validation results from the experts showed Very Well (SB) with an average of 4.3. So that the product is suitable for use in learning. (3) Based on the results of the N Gain calculation, Who obtained a value of 64% from the comparison of the average pretest and posttest scores before and after using Islamic religious textbooks with the Braille model, these results were in the "Effective Enough" category to improve student learning outcomes in PAI learning.
