Abstract

This study aims to determine the impact of reading time on students' information literacy skills in the library of 1thState Senior High School of Jetis The method in this research is descriptive quantitative. The subjects in this study were students of 1thState Senior High School of Jetis, object of the research was the impact of the implementation of reading time activities on students' information literacy skills. The sample obtained is 74 respondents with the Yammane formula. The sampling technique used incidental sampling. Variable X Reading Time as the independent variable, while the variable Y information literacy ability as the dependent variable. Data collection techniques are questionnaires, observation, interviews, and documentation. The measurement scale uses a Likert scale with four answer options, namely Strongly Agree (SS), Agree (S), Disagree (TS), and Strongly Disagree (STS). Data analysis used the mean and grand mean, with SPSS version 26 for windows to facilitate the calculation of correlation analysis and simple linear regression analysis. The results showed that (1) Reading Time in the Library of 1thState Senior High School of were included in the "Good" category from the results of the analysis of the mean and Grand Mean Variable Reading Time (X) of 3.11 in the interval 2.50 - 3.24. (2) Students' Information Literacy Ability in the "Good" category from the results of the analysis of the mean and Grand Mean Information Literacy Ability (Y) of 3.23 is in the interval 2.50 - 3.24. (3) The influence between Reading Time on Information Literacy Ability in the Library of 1thState Senior High School of Jetis has a value (0.716) which is included in the interval 0.60 - 0.799 which means that the level of the relationship is "Strong". (4) The results of the calculation of Simple Linear Regression with the equation Y = 22.447 + 1.496 X. and R Square of 0.513. It means that the influence of Reading Time activities on information literacy skills is 51%. Teachers should give assignments and directions to students to read carefully, make important notes such as 5W + 1H when reading with the aim that students can better understand the information that has been obtained. The role of teachers and librarians in helping and guiding students in the library to get the information needed and to improve their information literacy skills.
