Abstract

This research aims to analyze Putu Laxman Pendit's thoughts on digital libraries using the 5S conceptual framework. This research is a descriptive-analytic library research. Sources of research data library is divided into two, namely primary and secondary. The primary data sources are three books by Putu Laxman Pendit entitled Perpustakaan Digital: Perspektif Perpustakaan Perguruan Tinggi Indonesia, Perpustakaan Digital: dari A-Z, and Perpustakaan Digital: Kesinambungan dan Dinamika and journal entitled Extending the 5S Digital Library (DL) Framework: From a Minimal DL towards a DL Reference Model written by Uma Murthy, Douglas Gorton, Ricardo Torres, Marcos Gonçalves, Edward Fox, and Lois Delcambre also book entitled Theoretical Foundations For Digital Libraries: The 5S (Societies, Scenarios, Space, Structure, Streams) Approach written by Edward A. Fox, Marcos Andre Gonçalves and Rao Shen. Secondary data sources researchers use library sources that refer to or are referred to by Putu Laxman Pendit. The data collection technique is using documentation technique. Data analysis in this study used qualitative data analysis with three stages, namely the data reduction stage, the data presentation stage, and drawing conclusions. The validity test of the data or data validation is using credibility test, transferability test, dependability test, and confirmability test. The results showed that Putu Laxman Pendit's though relevant with the minimum requirements of digital libraries using the 5S conceptual framework.
