Abstract

This research was motivated by the impracticality of using data acquisition software on Yuniati and Rifai's spectrophotometer. This study aimed to create a Python-based spectrophotometer data acquisition software and test the repeatability precision, reproducibility precision, and the success of the spectrophotometer whose data acquisition subsystem was developed. This research was carried out in four stages, namely preparation, design, manufacturing, and testing of software. Preparation was done by installing Arduino IDE and Python software. Design of data acquisition system software was created using Microsoft Visio. At the software development stage, Python programming language was used with libraries that have been adapted to perform data processing and display. The testing was carried out with a motor rotation angle as wavelength function. The data acquisition software has been successfully created using Python. The data acquisition software was capable of displaying data in the form of numbers and graphs and storing data in csv format. The spectrophotometer whose data acquisition subsystem has been developed has a repeatability precision of 98.96474%, a reproducibility precision of 98.12108%, and a success rate of 99.90234%.
