Abstract

This research was conducted at the Library and Archives Service Center in Yogyakarta that addressed in jl. Janti, Wonocatur, Banguntapan, Bantul, Special Region of Yogyakarta. This research aims to knowing how the patron’s perception to the quality of grhatama pustaka’s general collection room of the special region of yogyakarta’s library service center. This research is belong to kualitative-deskriptive research. The methods for collecting data is using questionnaire, observation and documentation. This research is guided by IFLA Library Building Guidelines: Developments dan Reflections for the quistionnaire. The accounting methode for research validity using formula of correlation product moment and the research reliability is using alpha cronbach formula. the research conclution by result of 100 questionnaire showed that the general collection room of the Library Service Unit of the Grhatama Pustaka Unit is in accordance with the ten factors of suitability of the space with an average index value of 3.15 with a good category. Of the 10 factors, adaptable factors occupy the lowest value with an average of 2.61 and the highest is the safe and scure factor with an average of 3.43. Therefore, the researcher suggests the librarians to optimize the access of the OPAC page in the public collection room, several changes to the spatial arrangement take into account the needs of the user and the placement of electrical terminal ports that do not interfere with the movement of the user in accessing library materials.
