Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of the Commanditaire Vennootschap (CV) Konmediatech Library Consultant in the Development of School Libraries in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. The research was conducted using a qualitative descriptive method. The data collection technique uses observation, interviews, and documentation, while the analysis technique is carried out through the stages of data reduction, data display and data verification. The validity of the data was carried out using the observation extension technique, source triangulation, and member check. The results showed that (1) the role of CV. Konmediatech Library Consultant in developing school libraries is very important. With the service company engaged in the library can affect the development of the school library so that the role of CV. Konmediatech Library Consultants as educators in the development of school libraries to assist, educate, foster, train, and assist library management staff. And in his role as an educator, CV. Konmediatech Library Consultants also educate their colleagues, especially for members of the library development team. His role includes assisting and educating team members aimed at mastering how to implement school library development. (2) Constraints experienced by CV. Konmediatech Library Consultants in developing school libraries include: inadequate library budgets. Many school libraries have asked CV for help. Konmediatech Library Consultant but did not have sufficient budget for the development of the school library. As well as for the school library development team, the obstacles faced include bureaucracy, time, facilities and infrastructure for the library. (3) The purpose of using the services of CV. The Konmediatech Library Consultant is preparing for library accreditation, more conceptualizing the arrangement and changing the library on a large scale. As well as establishing sustainable collaboration, both short and long term in the library sector, which includes library consultation, resource persons, processing of library materials, interior design, and library design.
