Abstract

This study aims to 1) find out the process of fullfillment user needs for collection 2) find out the obstacles faced in the process of fullfillment user needs for collection 3) find out library efforts made to overcome obstacles faced in the process of fullfillment user needs for collection. This research is a qualitative descriptive research with data collection techniques in the form of interviews, observations, and documentation. The technique of determining the informants in this study used purposive sampling technique while the data analysis used used Miles Huberman's theory which consisted of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Test the validity of the data in this study using the member check method, triangulation of sources, and reference materials. The results showed that 1) the process of fullfillment user needs for collection carried out by different sources, some conducted direct searches by coming to the library through the manual catalog provided, some conducted online searches through journals and publications. Users assess that the collections in the library of BPPTKG Yogyakarta are sufficient to fullfillment the needs of users, both in terms of cognitive, affective, personal integration, social integration, and imagining needs. The process of fullfillment the needs of users for collections at the library of BPPTKG starts from the selection process, the procurement process, collection maintenance process 2) the obstacles faced by the library of BPPTKG Yogyakarta in fullfillment the needs of its users for collections include human resources, limited budget, and collections which is still not up-to-date 3) the efforts taken by the library include cooperating with third parties in assisting librarian, conducting periodical publications, and providing adequate computer facilities and internet access.
