Abstract

This study contains the librarian's strategy in increasing public interest in reading through creative activities at the Rumah Belajar Modern (RBM) Kapanewon Sewon along with the obstacles experienced and their solutions. This study aims to determine the librarian's strategy in increasing public interest in reading at the Rumah Belajar Modern (RBM) Kapanewon Sewon. The research was conducted at the Rumah Belajar Modern (RBM) Kapanewon Sewon. This research uses descriptive research with a qualitative approach. In this study, several informants were taken for interviews, the informants of this research were, among others, the librarian managing the activities, namely. Data collection techniques are observation, interviews, and documentation studies. Sources of data used are primary data and secondary data. Data analysis techniques through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and concluding. Test the validity of the data with extended observations, triangulation and source triangulation. The results of the librarian's strategy research include: (1) Determining the Theme of Activities (2) Determining Resource Persons (3) Provision of facilities and infrastructure. In carrying out this strategy many obstacles faced by librarians include (1) Fund management (2) Activity participants (3) Activity time.
