Abstract

Job preparation is important, so students can recognize their own potential and knowledge about the world of work. Especially for SMK students who are focused on working after graduation. The researcher found a visible phenomenon in SMK students, namely the absence or low level of career orientation. Many students are still confused when asked to plan or prepare for their careers. One of the things that can affect students' career orientation is career guidance services. Career guidance services can meet student needs, understand and plan jobs so that students have a clear career orientation after graduating from Vocational High School. This study aims to determine the effect of career guidance on career orientation in students of SMK Kesehatan Amanah Husada Banguntapan Bantul Yogyakarta. Using quantitative methods with this type of pre-experimental research using a one group pre-test post-test research design. The subjects in this study were 18 students in class X Pharmacy and X Nurse I at the Amanah Husada Banguntapan Health Vocational School, Bantul, Yogyakarta. The sampling technique used purposive sampling technique. The data collection tool used is a career orientation scale. Data analysis used the Wilcoxon test with the help of IBM SPSS 26.0 for Windows. Based on the results of the research conducted, stated that the hypothesis in this study was accepted as evidenced by the Wilcoxon test value of 0.040 (p <0.05), which means it is significant. In addition, the change in the average pretest score was 70.89 with a posttest average score of 71.83. So it can be concluded that career guidance influences the career orientation of class X students of SMK Kesehatan Amanah Husada Banguntapan Bantul Yogyakarta. Providing career guidance can improve student career orientation.
