Abstract

The social media in Indonesia are the most preferred media platform nowadays. It has known that almost all people are often accessing the social media. Besides, in Indonesia itself is currently in its Covid-19 pandemic state that suffered numerous casualties resulting the Indonesian government declaring the health protocol through the social media platforms in order to prevent the Covid-19 virus transmission. The role of the social media is very important in this matter. Therefore, a space or medium to find out and responding the problems or issues by individuals is needed. For this reason, it is very appealing to conduct such research to determine the magnitude of the social media exposure’s influence on clean and healthy living behaviour. The Uses and Effect Theory was applied as the fundamental theory of the research since it explained that media as a space or medium could affect and influence human behaviour. This study applied a descriptive-quantitative approach and a survey method of 94 adolescents aged 16-18 living in Pakem Sub-District. After carrying out simple regression analysis, it is known that this study resulted in research with a t-count of 19,066 and a t-table of 1,661 which can be concluded that there is a significant influence of the social media exposure reaching 79.8% on clean and healthy living behaviour, or is on a high scale.
