Abstract

Nowadays education is very important for everyone's life, be it formal, non-formal or informal channels. Education is fundamental in improving various aspects of development, especially in aspects of cognitive development, in which cognitive development is the center of all development. This research was conducted against a background of low development of children's cognitive abilities. Cognitive development of children who have not yet developed will have an impact on other developments. Therefore, it is important to use media that can improve children's cognitive abilities, one of which is using natural media. The purpose of this research is to find out the role and impact of cognitive development by using natural media in early childhood. The method used by researchers is a quantitative experiment. Quantitative experiments were carried out to find the results of cognitive development data with the help of the IBM SPSS Statistic 23 application. Data sources were through observation, documentation, interviews, and from books or journal articles. The results of the study found that the use of natural material media in improving cognitive abilities of early childhood at RA Babussalam was well implemented, with normal distribution test results, homogeneous interpretation test homohenity, independent t-test Ha accepted, and effect size with 82% result relatively large.
