Abstract

This research is motivated by the existence of teaching materials that are used when the Indonesian language learning process is less varied. As a result, students' critical thinking skills in Indonesian lessons are still in the low category. In the observation activities, the teaching materials used only refer to the teacher's book and student's book. So this makes students quickly feel bored and bored in participating in learning. This study aims to (1) produce digital-based picture-story teaching materials (2) analyze the quality of digital-based picture-story teaching materials, and (3) analyze the effectiveness of digitalbased picture story teaching materials to improve the critical thinking skills of fourth graders of SD Negeri Ringinsari. This research uses the R&D development research method or (Research and Development) developed by Robert Maribe Brach which consists of five stages, namely: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation stages. This research was conducted at Ringinsari Public Elementary School located in Ringinsari, Maguwoharjo, Kec. Depok, Sleman Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta, with a total of 24 students. Instruments and data collection in this study used data from the assessment of design experts, material experts, linguists, teacher assessment, and pretest and posttest student This research produced digital-based picture story teaching materials, on fictional story material obtained from Theme 8 (The Area Where I Live) Sub-theme 1 (The Environment where I Live) which focuses on learning Indonesian to be consumed by class IV of Elementary School. Digital-Based Picture Story Teaching Materials are considered "Very Eligible" to be used as a source of Indonesian language teaching materials to improve students' critical thinking skills in learning activities. This can be seen based on the assessment of the media expert who obtained a score of 93.7%, the material expert obtained the result of 93%, the linguist of 93.3% and the assessment by the teacher with the result of 95%. The effectiveness of digital-based picture story teaching materials can be seen based on ' pre-test and post-test studentsThis was obtained based on the results of the paired sample t-test with the results on students' critical thinking skills obtained Sig. (2 x tailed) of 0.000<0.05. > <0.05. Obtained from a comparison of the average value of students' critical thinking skills before using teaching materials of 30.42, and after using teaching materials obtained posttest results of 39.50. Then the results of the product effectiveness test on students' critical thinking skills showed that as many as 20 students scored (g)> 0.7 or the high category, and 6 students scored 0.3 ≤(g) ≥ 0.7 or the medium category. Based on the acquisition of the effectiveness value, there is a significant increase in students' critical thinking skills by using digital-based picture story teaching materials.
