Abstract

The background of this research is based on the results of the initial observations of researchers at SDN 3 SDU that the teaching materials used in class IV thematic learning are less varied, namely only in the form of books from the government which are intended for all students in Indonesia, so that there are some students who show interest. low learning, and also lack of knowledge about local wisdom, especially Palembang. This study aims to: (1) To develop thematic teaching materials based on the local wisdom of South Sumatra to increase students' interest in learning in class IV SDN 3 SDU (2) Analyze the feasibility of thematic teaching materials based on local wisdom. (3) Knowing the effectiveness of thematic teaching materials based on local wisdom in increasing the learning interest of fourth grade students at SDN 3 SDU. This study uses the Research and Development method. This research design uses the ADDIE model developed by Robert Maribe Brach which consists of five stages, namely Analysis Design (design), Development (development), Implementation (application) and Evaluation (evaluation). . The location of this study was at SDN 3 SDU, Muara Enim Regency. This research was conducted in class IV with 15 students. The instruments and data collection of this study used data from the assessment of media experts, material experts, linguists, teacher assessments, and students' pretest and posttest questionnaires using the N-gain score. The results of this study indicate that the development of thematic teaching materials is considered very feasible to use. Based on the assessment carried out by the design expert validator with a score of 95%, material expert validation with a score of 88%, linguist validation with a score of 90%. And the value of the teacher's response is 93%. The results of the effectiveness test of using local wisdom-based thematic teaching materials in improving student learning outcomes based on the pretest and posttest showed that as many as 15 students got (g) > 0.7 or the high category as many as 13 students, while students who got a score of 0.3 ≤ (g ) ≥ 0.7 or categorized as moderate as many as 2 students, and students who get a score of (g) <0.3 or a low category, namely 0 or no students get a low score. Thus it can be said that thematic teaching materials based on local wisdom are very effective in increasing the learning interest of fourth grade students at SDN 3 SDU.
