Abstract

Currently, mobile phones starts to become one of the essential needs for everyone. This is because the mobile phone is a wireless device that is important to be able to communicate and access information anywhere and anytime. The accuracy and speed in obtaining information is very necessary in the process of administrative services, especially the entry of Kartu Rencana Studi (KRS) in the UIN Sunan Kalijaga. In this research, it is developed an application for filling of KRS by using technology of information and communication. This application is implemented with the J2ME and PHP programming language. The data in this application are stored in a database server, by using MySQL as a database management system. Data communication is done by GPRS (General Pocket Radio System) channel, so that it is required a mobile phone equipped with WAP and Java Enable facilities to access this application. By developing this application that is based on mobile phone could offer many ease in KRS entry at the Faculty of Science and Technology of the Islamic State University of Sunan Kalijaga. Base on the testing which uses method of beta for 10 respondents was obtained a result that the application was developed appropiately and in line with its goals.
