Abstract

Libraries have an important role for the life of the nation's cultural life and intelligence, especially public libraries that are intended for all circles. Klaten City Public Library is a Public Library is located in the town of Klaten that serves as the central coordination and development of libraries in the city. If the view of its function, then the City Public Library is very instrumental to the development of scientific and public knowledge, especially urban areas are concerned. Therefore in it there should be a human resources professional in the art for the sake of implementation of tasks and functions of City Public Library to effectively and efficiently. This study aims to determine the implementation of functional empowerment of librarians in Klaten City Public Library, and to know what obstacles are encountered in the implementation of functional empowerment librarian. This study used a qualitative descriptive method and only have one variable that is the empowerment of functional librarians in Klaten City Public Library. To obtain valid data, the authors used multiple data collection methods and techniques of observation, interview and documentation. All data will be analyzed using the three stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions and verification. In knowing the validity of the data by using several criteria that degree of confidence, keteralihan, dependency and certainty. So that the known data is valid.
