Abstract

The research was carried out on internet services in UPT Library UNS. The purpose of this study was to determine the utilization of the Internet in meeting information needs students of the second semester DIII Library Science Faculty of Social and Political Sciences Library at UPT UNS. In studies that used this kind of research is quantitative, with a student population of the second semester DIII Library Science Faculty of Social and Political Sciences UNS by the number of samples 54 people. Taken with a probability sampling method. Data retrieval methods of documentation, literature study, and questionnaires or questionnaires. While the data analysis using descriptive quantitative data analysis. Based on the description of the assessment on the use of the Internet in meeting information needs students of the second semester DIII Perpusakaan Science Faculty of Social and Political Sciences Library at UPT UNS, it can be concluded that in general the quality of internet use in meeting the information needs students of the second semester DIII Library Science Faculty of Social and Political Sciences in UNS Library UPT categories with the grand mean value is 2.95. While the quality level of each sub category of either process variables degan grand mean value was 3.01, both categories of internet facility with the grand mean value was 2.95 and the needs of both categories of information with the grand mean of 2.89. This indicates that there is no sub variable quality of Internet use in meeting the information needs that have a grand mean value of 3.26 to 4.00 or very good category, the management of UPT Library UNS maintaining the quality of Internet service and continue to improve and develop the quality of care given to pemustaka internet.
