Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the variables on Push Pull Mooring (PPM) on the intention and behavior of switching from conventional banks to Islamic banks. The population in this study are people in West Sumatra Province who have moved from conventional banks to islamic banks. Collecting data in this study used a purposive sampling method, with a total of 165 respondents. The analysis technique used in this research is Structural Equation Modeling Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS). The results of the study show that switching intention from conventional banks to Islamic banks is influenced by a pull factor in the form of subjective norms and a binding factor in the form of switching costs. While the push factors are pricing and service quality, the pull factors are relative advantages and ease of use, and the mooring factors are habits that have no influence on switching intention from conventional banks to Islamic banks. Furthermore, switching intention influences switching behavior. The results of the study found that the age variable could not moderate the switching intention variable on switching behavior.
