Abstract

Learning in the current metaverse era communicates internationally with other individuals from various countries. The research method used is descriptive qualitative research by analyzing data based on facts in learning English in the metaverse era using observation, identification, and investigation techniques in investigations with random research targets all early childhood to university level adults. Data analysis in this study is inductive based on facts in the field by comparing the construction of learning English or foreign languages with the national language. Based on the study results, it was found that mastery of English in Indonesia is very much needed for human resources for the nation in the development of science and technology at this time. Learning English in Indonesia still faces problems. This can be seen from the study results, which showed that English mastery was generally still in the low category. Meanwhile, in this metaverse era, the majority use English. Almost all electronic devices use English as the language of instruction. Thus, it is necessary to comprehensively understand students and the wider community to create constructions of English learning for the global communication world is expected to increase competitiveness in the worldwide community by studying English. This research can contribute to growing Indonesian people's attention to the importance of learning more English in the metaverse era.
