Abstract

This research studies the impact of financial inclusion on poverty and income inequality through economic growth as a mediator. This research was conducted in Indonesia starting from 2016 until 2022. Financial inclusion, poverty, income inequality, and economic growth are measured respectively by financial inclusion index, total population under poverty line, gini ratio, and GRP. Hypothesis testing was carried out using Kendall correlation test as an alternative to the parametric linier regression test. There were several results found through the hypothesis testing. The results show that financial inclusion has a significant impact on economic growth but not on poverty and income inequality. The results also show that economic growth successfully mediate the impact of financial inclusion on income inequality but not on poverty. Based on hypothesis testing it was found that two out of seven hypotheses were accepted.
