Abstract

This research is motivated by the minimal use of learning media and children's difficulties regarding the material for writing reports in class. This research on the development of learning video media aims to: (1) To find out the process of developing learning video media with Open Broadcaster Software to improve student learning outcomes in writing reports for MIN Kudus. (2) To find out the feasibility of learning video media with Open Broadcaster Software to improve learning outcomes for writing student reports at MIN Kudus. (3) To find out whether learning video media with Open Broadcaster Software can improve learning outcomes for writing student reports at MIN Kudus. Researchers used the Research and Development model ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) research method. This study aims to produce learning video media products with Open Broadcaster Software. The research location is at MIN Kudus, which is located in Mijen, Prabatan Kidul, Kec. Kaliwungu, Kudus Regency, Central Java. This research was conducted in class VI A as the experimental class and class VI D as the control class with a total of 29 students in each class. Instruments and data collection in this study used the results of the assessment of media experts, material experts, Indonesian language teachers, pre-test questions and post-test questions. The results of this study indicate that the process of developing instructional video media with Open Broadcaster Software consists of an analysis stage, in which the researcher analyzes the competence, learning, and analyzes the characteristics of the students. The design stage, in which the researcher compiles a learning video media framework, arranges a learning video media systematics, and designs an evaluation tool. The development stage, namely the researcher compiles the material, prepares supporting drawings, compiles drafts, and makes edits for improvement. In the implementation stage, the researcher implemented learning video media with Open Broadcaster Software to class VI A. In the evaluation stage, the researcher conducted a pre-test and post-test to class VI D as the control class and class VI A as the experimental class. The development of learning video media for writing report materials with Open Broadcaster Software is included in the very appropriate category by media experts with an assessment result of 90.97, the appropriate category by material experts with an assessment result of 76.9, and the very feasible category by Indonesian language teachers with an assessment result of 96.15. The N-Gain score in the experimental class is 0.6553 in the moderate category. The N-Gain score in the control class is 0.4854 in the moderate category. However, the N-Gain score in the experimental class is greater than the control class. So it is said that the results of learning materials for writing student reports increased more in the experimental class. Based on the average value obtained by class VI A as an experimental class at the pre-test stage, namely 65.73 and at the post-test stage it increased to 90.33. This shows that the development of instructional video media with Open Broadcaster Software can improve student report writing learning outcomes, with a percentage of 37.43%.
