Abstract

Economic growth is one indicator of measurement in increasing economic development in a region or a country.economic growth in regions in Indonesia is influenced by many factors, not only economic factors, but social, demographic, and political can also affect the rate of economic growth. Investment, inflation, Human Development Index (HDI), and labor can afect both economic development economic growth. This study aims to examine the effect of investment, inflation, HDI, and also labor on economic growth in provinces on Sumatra island in the 2015-2021 period. This study uses secondary data obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistic (BPS), using 10 provinces in Sumatra as the sample and total obsevation on this research is 70. The method used in this research is panel data regression with the selected model being the fixed effect model, using the Eviews 12 tool. The results of this study indicate that simultaneously the variables of investment, inflation, HDI, and labor have significant influence on economic growth. Partially, the investment and inflation variables have no significant effect on economic growth, while the HDI and labor variables have a positive and significant effect on economic growth in the provinces on the island of Sumatra.
