Abstract

Kurikulum merdeka is needed to produce students with 21st century competencies, so that they can compete in the current era of digitalization. Able to master technology, creative, accustomed to critical thinking and work together in groups. The competencies obtained need to be balanced with Character Education. This research aims to 1) develop a product in the form of character education-based physics comics on solar system material that can help the learning process at SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Depok, 2) determine the form of character education-based physics comics that can increase students' learning motivation. This research is R&D research with 4-D development model which has development research procedures, (1) Define, (2) Design, (3) Develop, and (4) Disseminate. This research was conducted only up to the Develop stage, namely expert validation, product quality assessment, and products trials. The research instrument used was a validation sheet and an assessment of the quality of Character Education-Based Physics Comics for material experts, media experts, and science teachers who used a four-scale Likert scale while the instrument for limited product trials was in the form of student response sheets. The results of the research that have been developed are Physics Comics Based on Character Education on the material of the solar system. The quality of research products developed according to material experts and science teachers is of good quality, while the evaluation of product quality according to media experts is of very good quality. The results of this study can be used as learning media in the classroom or used independently by students outside the classroom.
