Abstract

The behavior of delaying academic work is also called academic procrastination. The habit of procrastinating is considered a serious problem by many parties in everyday life and in the world of education in modern society. In handling academic procrastination, classical guidance can be one of the ways used by counseling teachers. In this study, the academic procrastination scale is based on Schouwenberg's theory in Joseph R Ferrari et al. Based on the analysis of research results with quantitative methods pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design with the results of normality analysis getting a score of 0.155 for the pretest and 0.118 for the posttest which means greater than the sig value> 0.05 so that the normality assumption that the data is normally distributed is met. Then for the hypothesis test, the value of 0.000 is smaller than the sig value <0.05, so it can be interpreted that Ha is accepted. Based on the explanation above, it can be concluded that classical guidance services are effective in reducing academic procrastination of students in class IX D MTs Minhajut Tholabah Kembangan Bukateja Purbalingga.
