Abstract

The majority of Indonesian people are Muslim, becoming part of the internet users to serve as an important source in religious affairs. However, this symbol of piety may have shifted from houses of worship to the internet, and from mosques to social media. Found on youtube social media that raises extreme issues, there can be potential for errors in choosing and selecting content that should be avoided, so that massive extreme actions occur. This invites attention cyber da’wah to embrace and counter by narrating religious moderation packaged politely, gently and beautifully. The author sees the potential for spirit to be carried out by the youtube channel Piweling Maiyah. This is because the uploaded video content is very conditional with religious moderation which is divided into four indicators: national commitment, tolerance, non-violence, and accommodating local culture. The purpose of this research is to find out why the youtube channel Piweling Maiyah narrate religious moderation, as well as to understand how cyber da’wah exploring religious moderation on the youtube channel Piweling Maiyah. This type of research is a qualitativeresearch, the approach in this research is an exploratory study. The source of this research was obtained by observing the narrative content of religious moderation on the youtube channel Piweling Maiyah, as well as from books, articles, and other supporting references. The results in this study are that the YouTube channel Piweling Maiyah making Mbah Nun the main actor to narrate religious moderation in the sphere cyber da’wah. Channel youtube Piweling Maiyah categorized as mass media with a comparative model style that is neutral and in line with the counter narrative of existing problems such as terrorism, identity politics, Islamic caliphate and hoax on social media.
