Abstract

Employment is one of the important indicators in measuring a country's economy. This study aims to analyze the effect of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), Gross Domestic Product (GDP), Trade Opeennes (trade openness), and inflation on employment in ASEAN countries. The data used in this study are panel data from 10 ASEAN member countries (Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam) in 2010-2020. This study used panel data regression analysis tools and was processed using the Eviews 9 application. The data used is obtained from the World Bank website. The results of this study show that the variables GDP, and Trade Opennes affect labor absorption, while FDI and Inflation variables do not affect labor absorption.
