Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Think Pair Share (TPS) cooperative learning model on the activities and learning outcomes of sensory system on Biology's subject in Eleventh grade MIPA students at SMA Negeri 2 Banguntapan. The method used in this study is a quantitative method with a Quasi-Experimental Design research design (quasi-experimental) and uses a Nonequivalent Control Group Design with 2 samples in the form of 1 experimental class (TPS type cooperative learning model) and 1 control class (conventional learning model/DI). The determination of the sample in this study used a purposive sampling technique based on the number of students in the experimental class. Data collection uses a questionnaire sheet instrument to retrieve data on learning outcomes of Biology learning activities and test questions to retrieve data on Biology learning outcomes. The data was then analyzed using the Mann Whitney U Test data analysis technique to process activity data and student learning outcomes. Based on the results of data analysis, the conclusions are obtained: 1) there is an influence of the Think Pair Share (TPS) cooperative learning model on students' Biology learning activities, this is evidenced by the results of data analysis obtained a sig value of 0.007, which means a sig value <0.05. 2) there is an influence of the Think Pair Share (TPS) cooperative learning model on students' Biology learning outcomes, this is evidenced by the results of data analysis obtained a sig value of 0.031 which means <0.05.
