Abstract

This research aims to: 1) determine the development of Flipchart-based instructional media on the topic of the respiratory system, and 2) assess the quality of Flipchart-based instructional media on the topic of the respiratory system. This research is of the Research and Development (R&D) type, employing the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) development model, but only up to the Development stage. The assessment of the Flipchart media involves multiple instruments, including questionnaires assessing the opinions of experts, peer reviewers, biology teachers, and feedback from students. The research subjects consist of 1 media expert, 1 content expert, 5 peer reviewers, 1 biology teacher, and 15 students from the 11th grade of MAN 2 Yogyakarta. The collected data were analyzed using both quantitative and qualitative descriptive techniques. The research findings indicate that 1) the development of Flipchart-based instructional media for the respiratory system follows the ADDIE model: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. 2) The quality of the respiratory system Flipchart as instructional media falls into the "Very Good" category. This assessment is based on the ideal percentage, which is 94% from media experts, 90% from content experts, 94% from peer reviewers, and 91% from the biology teacher. Furthermore, the response from 15 students towards the Flipchart demonstrates a "Strongly Agree" category, with an ideal percentage of 90%. As a result, the developed product is deemed suitable for use as instructional media for students.
