Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of information literacy in Library Science students at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. This study uses descriptive quantitative research methods. This research was conducted on students of Library Science UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta class of 2015-2018. The population in this study amounted to 132 students with 99 students as the sample. Calculation of the sample using the Slovin formula with an error rate of 5% which was taken using the proportionate stratified random sampling technique. Test the validity of the instrument using Product Moment and Cronbach's Alpha formula, with calculations using the SPSS version 21 windows program. The main data collection technique is a closed questionnaire with a Likert scale. Data analysis was carried out using the mean, grand mean formula. The results of the assessment are concluded based on the value on the interval scale. The results showed that the information literacy of Library Science students at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta could be categorized as very high with a grand mean of 3.44 which was in the interval 3.25 < X < 4.00. Information literacy of Library Science students of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta in the problem definition sub variable obtained a grand mean of 3.36 with a very high category, the information search strategy sub variable obtained a grand mean of 3.42 very high category, location and access sub variable 3.47 very high category, information utilization sub variable the grand mean 3.56 category is very high, the sub-variable synthesis is obtained the grand mean is 3.51 very high category, the sub-variable evaluation is obtained the grand mean 3.32 category is very high. The lowest value of the grand mean is in the evaluation sub variable. It is hoped that Library Science students at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta can re- check or evaluate the research that has been made, to anticipate plagiarism.
