Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the assessment of the work posture of the FIB UGM Library employees during shelving activities with the RULA method. The method used in this study is qualitative because this study uses the RULA method, which is an observational method used as a method for analyzing work posture. This study also uses calculations and measurements based on the RULA worksheet. The subjects in this study were 6 library staff at FIB UGM. The object of this study is the work posture of 6 employees at FIB UGM library when shelving at the 6th shelf level. The research instruments used were RULA worksheets, camera, and the Angle Meter application. The data sources used primary data sources from observations and documentation also secondary data sources form short interviews and references from book and internet resource. Data collection done by observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaire. The validity of the data was tested by credibility test used the source triangulation technique and technical triangulation. Data analysis done by data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions or verification. Based on the results of data analysis and discussion carried out using the RULA method, it was concluded that the working posture of 6 employees at the FIB UGM when shelving on the 6th level shelf got an average score of 7 which means it has a very high-risk level. With a score of 7, the action that must be taken is a change in employee work posture supported by additional work facilities to minimize the potential for injury.
