Abstract

Learning media is one of the learning tools that can be utilized to assist the learning process. One of them is the development of monopoly physics (Mophys) learning media based on the needs of students. This research aims to 1) Produce monopoly physics (Mophys) learning media to facilitate students' concept understanding on global warming material, 2) Know the quality of monopoly physics (Mophys) learning media to facilitate students' concept understanding ability on climate change and global warming material according to material experts, media experts, and physics teachers, 3) Know the students' response to monopoly physics (Mophys) learning media to facilitate students' concept understanding on global warming material, and 4) Know the implementation of monopoly physics (Mophys) in learning. This research is a type of Research and Development (R&D) research with the 4D development model by Thiagarajan which consists of the Define, Design, Development, and disseminate stages. This research was carried out up to the development stage (Develop), namely by conducting a broad trial and testing the applicability of Mophys. The instruments used in this study were instrument and product validation sheets, product assessment sheets, student response sheets, and product implementation observation sheets. Assessment of product quality, product applicability, and learner responses using a Likert scale of 1-4. The results of this study are monopoly physics (Mophys) learning media to facilitate students' concept understanding on global warming material with Very Good criteria (SB) based on assessments conducted by material experts, media experts, and high school physics teachers with an average score for each assessment of 3.2; 3.46; and 3.61. Students' responses to Mophys in the limited trial obtained agree criteria (S) with an average score of 3.15 and in the broad trial obtained an average score of 3.16 with agree criteria (S). The results of the observation of the implementation of Mophys in the broad trial conducted by the observer obtained an average score of 3.63 with Very Good criteria (SB).
