Abstract

Education should be carried out from an early age which can be done in the family, school and society. Education is a basic capital to in still independence in children. Learning media is a tool used as an intermediary for communication in learning activities. The use of iqro block media can be a very effective tool in improving the ability to memorize hijaiyah letters for early childhood. This helps create a strong foundation for Arabic language learning and a deeper understanding of Islam later in life. The purpose of this study is to determine how the application of iqro block media for the ability to memorize hijaiyah letters in early childhood at KB Ar Rohmah. This research uses Qualitative Method. This research was conducted at KB Ar Rohmah, with several subjects, namely the principal, class teacher, and play group children. Data collection techniques in this study through several ways, namely observation, interview and documentation. Data analysis techniques in this study through the interactive model of Miles and Huberman. The data validity test used in this research is triangulation. The results of the use of iqro block media are from 12 children who can memorize fluently 8 children, where 5 children from Ibrahim class and 3 children from Isa class. Meanwhile, there are 4 children who have not been fluent, namely 1 child from Ibrahim class, 1 child from Isa class and 2 children from Musa class. On average, children easily pick up and sort and pronounce hijaiyah letters in sequence through iqro block media. In this study there are supporting factors, namely interesting visual and tactile, the use of play, effective repetition, flexibility in use, and the development of fine motor skills. While the inhibiting factors are limited access, cost, lack of supervision, motivation level, and alternative media choices.
