Abstract

Social solidarity is an emotional feeling in social life which is characterized by mutual trust, solidarity, common goals and a sense of responsibility. The Kebumen Rather Begging Community is here to be one of the community mobilizers to encourage community awareness and concern for the surrounding social conditions, especially in Kebumen Regency. This community uses social media, one of which is Instagram, to launch a humanitarian movement to strengthen social solidarity with others. Based on the background, this research aims to answer what is the intensity of accessing Instagram accounts rather than begging in Kebumen? How is the social solidarity of Kebumen residents? Is there a relationship between the intensity of accessing the Instagram account Rather than Begging in Kebumen and the social solidarity of residents in Kebumen? The type of research used in this research is survey research, namely research using a questionnaire as the main instrument. The data analysis technique uses correlational analysis of 100 respondents through sampling using a purposive sampling technique. The results of this research show that there is a significant correlation between the access intensity variable and social solidarity. This is proven by the results of the hypothesis test which states that the significance value is 0.000 < 0.05. Then it was confirmed by the results of the correlation coefficient calculation showing the number 0.406, where the data interpretation falls into the 0.400 – 0.599 category. This means that the two variables have a moderate level of close relationship.
