Abstract

This study aims to assess the role of self-control as an intervening variable on the variables of ease of use and promotion towards the interest in using online loans. Data were collected using an online questionnaire with a sample of 180 respondents, distributed through social media. This research was tested using the SMART-PLS analysis tool, with the research results showing that the direct influence of ease of use on interest, promotion on interest, ease of use on self-control, and promotion on self-control are significant and influential. However, self-control on interest is not influential. Meanwhile, for the indirect influence, the variable of ease of use on interest through self-control and the variable of promotion on interest through self-control are both not influential and significant.
