Abstract

The transformative leadership of the principal has an urgent role in realizing learning digitalization innovation because the principal with a transformative leadership style will follow and adapt to the times. The reality in the field is not the case, because there is a phenomenon of teachers who do not have the ability to adopt technological sophistication in learning. The second phenomenon is the inadequate school facilities to optimally realize the digitalization of learning. The purpose of this study, first, is to understand how the transformational leadership role of the principal creates digital learning innovations. Second, to find out how the transformational leadership strategy of the principal of SMK Diponegoro Depok Yogyakarta facilitates digital learning innovation. Third, what are the transformative leadership innovations of the principal of SMK Diponegoro Depok Yogyakarta in digitizing learning. This research uses descriptive qualitative research. Data collection was carried out using observation, interview and documentation techniques. While data analysis uses data reduction techniques, data presentation, then draws conclusions. For data validation using source and technical triangulation. The results of this study, first, the principal has an urgent role in digital learning innovation through the influence given, providing intensive motivation, paying attention to the ability of teachers in the use of digital learning. In paying attention to this individual, the principal is still weak because there are still teachers who have not adopted digital learning because they are constrained by the ability to use digital learning. Second, the principal's strategy in fulfilling digital learning innovation facilities is to first analyze the needs, then make procurements using the BOS (School Operational Assistance) budget and also apply for assistance to the government. And the last is to carry out regular maintenance of the facilities owned. Third, the innovations produced include; digital media learning videos using the Canva application, utilizing Fashion CAD (Computer-Aided Design), utilizing the CorelDRAW application, and making digital handouts. The practical implication of this research is that it can help develop an understanding of the phenomenon studied both to practitioners, principals and related parties. Providing guidance to school principals that they must be more intense in providing learning digitization training and also be more creative in fulfilling digital learning facilities, not only relying on and BOS and government assistance.
