Abstract

This study aims to identify the relationship between information literacy skills and information seeking behavior in 2019 batch students of the UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta Library Science study program. The method used in this research is correlational quantitative method. The research subjects consisted of undergraduate students of Library Science UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta class of 2019, while the research objects were information literacy skills and information search behavior. The sampling technique used was simple random sampling technique with a total sample size of 54 students. Data collection was carried out through the use of a questionnaire, with data measurement using a Likert scale consisting of 4 answer options. Data analysis was carried out using the product moment correlation test. The results of the correlation analysis showed that there was a relationship between information literacy skills and information seeking behavior with a Sig value. (2-tailed 0.000 <0.05. The analysis results obtained a Pearson Correlation value of 0.802, indicating the relationship between the variables is very strong. Based on the results of the study, it shows that the resulting coefficient is significant, so it can be concluded that there is a relationship between information literacy skills and information seeking behavior in library science students of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta class of 2019.
